Insurance and Fees
Insurance and Fees
Before your first appointment, your specific insurance plan and benefits must be checked to determine whether I am in-network and whether the requested visit is covered. An insurance company may offer several plans with different provider networks, so accepting one plan does not mean I accept every plan from that company.
For plans billed through Headway, you will create a patient account and enter your insurance and payment information. Headway checks your benefits, provides an estimated visit cost, and handles insurance billing and applicable patient payments. Your psychiatric care is provided by me.
If you have two insurance plans, please contact the practice before registering so we can confirm the appropriate billing process. Verification of benefits does not guarantee insurance payment.

- Aetna
- Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield New York (formerly Empire)
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts — Virtual Network
- Carelon Behavioral Health
- Cigna

- Highmark BlueShield of Northeastern New York

- Oscar (Optum)
- Providence Health Plan
Before Your First Appointment
Your specific insurance plan and benefits must be checked before your first visit to confirm whether I am in-network and whether your plan covers the visit. An insurance company may offer several plans with different provider networks, so I may accept some plans from a company but not others.
To get started, register through Headway. Create a patient account and enter your insurance and payment information. Headway checks your benefits, provides an estimated visit cost, and handles insurance billing and applicable patient payments. Your psychiatric care is provided by me.
Understanding Your Visit Costs
Depending on your insurance benefits, you may be responsible for:
- Copay: A fixed amount you pay for a covered visit.
- Deductible: The amount you pay for certain covered services before your insurance begins sharing those costs.
- Coinsurance: The percentage of the covered visit cost you pay, such as 20%, while your insurance pays the remaining portion.
Your estimated cost may change after your insurance processes the claim. Verification of benefits does not guarantee insurance payment.
If You Have Two Insurance Plans
Please contact the practice before registering and provide information for both plans. Insurance coordination rules determine which plan pays first. The second plan may cover some remaining costs, depending on its benefits, but having two plans does not guarantee that the visit will be fully covered.
Self-Pay
For patients without insurance, I offer straightforward self-pay options:
- Initial psychiatric evaluation (60 minutes): $350
- Follow-up visit (30 minutes): $200
